NHS HTA – themed issue on pandemic flu

A NHS HTA report discusses a number of issues on the management of pandemic flu based on assessment of the recent H1N1 (’swine flu’) pandemic. Issues examined are:
. needs, concerns and behaviours of people with existing respiratory conditions . influenza A/H1N1v in pregnancy . the impact of communications about swine flu on public responses to the outbreak . the impact of illness and of school closure on social contact patterns . vaccine effectiveness; and . a Cochrane review of physical  interventions to to interrupt or reduce the spread of respiratory viruses.
